The regularly scheduled program was suddenly interrupted by a frantic looking news anchor. "We interrupt your program to bring you up to date on the unfolding tradjety that started during the dedication of the Montonov Park and Community Center. We now send you to our on-site reporter, Rock Whittaker. Rock?"
Rock appears on the screen, crouched down behind some trees and looking terrified. The camera is shaking, and there are sounds of gunshots and screaming close by in the background. "Thank you April! We are here at the community center, where we have witnessed a group of masked terrorists with automatic weapons attacking the stage. At this time, details are sketchy, but we do know that Mayor Barry Walters is down! He has been struck by a bullet, but I can not confirm the severity! I can see many civilians down, but I can not confirm the number of casualties.
"From my position I was able to see the Montonov security team protecting Mrs. Montonov and her daughter, but they appear to be trapped on the stage. We also know that a group of local bikers have taken up arms in defense of the civilians! They so far have been able to take down at least seven of the terrorists, but there are still many more still firing into the crowd."
A burst of gunfire cuts Rock off and he ducks down. "We're no longer safe here! We've got to-"
There's a scream and the camera jerks to the side, falling to the grass. The image blurs, and when it clears, all viewers see are Rock's shoes as he starts running away. A limp arm lays in the grass off to the side. The image quickly cuts back to April at the news desk, and she looks pale and shaken. "Ladies and Gentlemen, we've confirmed that mayor Barry Walters has been killed by a sniper's bullet, and it looks like our cameraman, Gary Williamsberg, has fallen. We can only hope that Rock was able to get away. We have reports coming in that police reinforcements are on their way to the park now, having caught the bank robber that had taken most of their forces on a high-speed chase earlier today."
April seems to gather herself back together, looking seriously at the camera. "We here at Channel 3 are going to stay on top of the story, and we hope that all of you viewers out there will pray with us, for the poor souls trapped at the park."
The screen cuts to a commercial.
